"Male jazz singers are in a minority, so it’s always interesting to hear one, especially one who has the tone and phrasing of some of the very best from the past. If you like Sinatra, Tony Bennett and even Michael Buble, you can’t help but loving Dylan Ross who was pitch perfect all night. The collective included Simon Allen on sax who did an outstanding solo performance of ‘All The Things You Are’, Gareth Fowler on guitar, Brian Postlethwaite on piano, Joe Limburn on bass and Alex Cardall on drums. They gelled well and provided well-crafted backing on classic standards like ‘A Foggy Day’ and ‘Stella By Starlight’. Ross sang the tricky ‘My Foolish Heart’ with a gorgeous tenderness. It's interesting listening to a very familiar Jazz repertoire, but with the emphasis on words. Dylan Ross sang them with precision and feeling. The Jazz Collective got a rousing reception from a near capacity crowd."
